Our Care
West Park Care Complex
Degenerative & Neurological Conditions
Neurological conditions are often progressive, and people living with them may experience a wide range of evolving symptoms. Because each person’s needs are unique, we tailor our care accordingly. We follow NICE guidance and work alongside neuro therapists to support mobility, daily living, swallowing, and communication as effectively as possible.
Although neurological conditions are life-limiting, life expectancy varies significantly—some individuals live for many years or even decades. As a result, the level of care required can differ greatly from person to person. Some clients are able to live with a high degree of independence, supported by a small care team for daily tasks, while others may need complex interventions and full-time assistance. Whatever your needs, we’re here to help you live as comfortably and independently as possible at home.
We support individuals with a wide range of neurological conditions, most of which result from degenerative damage to the brain. Conditions we currently support include:
- Motor Neurone Disease
- Huntington’s Disease
- Cerebral Palsy
- Locked-In Syndrome
- Muscular Dystrophy
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Parkinson’s Disease
How We Support You
Our extensive experience in delivering neurological care enables us to support both clients and their families over the long term.
Care we commonly provide at home includes:
- Support with diet, nutrition, hydration, swallowing, and PEG/gastrostomy feeding
- Tracheostomy care
- Assistance with respiratory symptoms, respiratory function, and ventilatory support
- Help with mobility and accessing the community
- Personal care
- Moving and handling, including support with weakness and muscle-related issues
- Pain management
As symptoms progress, everyday activities such as mobility, swallowing, and breathing can become more difficult, and interventions like feeding tubes or breathing support may be required.
When creating your bespoke care package, we work closely with you, your family (where appropriate), and the wider multidisciplinary team to design a service that meets your clinical, social, and personal needs.
We take into account both the practical and clinical aspects of your care, as well as the emotional and social support that contributes to your overall quality of life.
